GENERAL FAQs

Hoop Nation provides basketball skills training for players ages 4-16 of any skill level, both boys and girls. All are welcome. Every player at Hoop Nation is placed in an appropriate age and skill level group for their development.
Age brackets include:
Baby Ballers: 4-5 years of age
6-7 years of age
8-10 years of age
11-16 years of age
There are four skill levels that members are grouped into for classes, ranging from Rookie to Level 3. Our small class structure is designed for effective and fun learning with a semi-private peer group and personalized, hands-on coaching with our expert coaches.

All classes at Hoop Nation are semi-private. Most of our classes are a 4:1 player-to-trainer ratio, with the exception of classes designed specifically to include more scrimmage and game play. This small ratio delivers targeted training focused on all the essential skills often overlooked in typical team practices. Each player gets personalized attention, more ball touches, and measurable improvement as they grow.
In addition to our regular classes for members, we offer private group training and special events & clinics that are open to members & non-members. -
Each Hoop Nation coach has extensive experience both playing and coaching basketball at an elite level. They bring professional basketball experience and specialized training expertise to every session.
Each coach is also committed to player development. They leverage their high-level basketball backgrounds to unlock your player’s maximum potential on the court.

Getting started at Hoop Nation

To set up your Hoop Lab account, please follow the steps below:
Sign up for a Momence customer account (our booking platorm): https://momence.com/sign-up/visitor
Then, you’ll first create an account for you as the Parent
Visit Children > My Children > Add Child Account
Sign up for a New Member Class so your child can be evaluated. They must receive a level through our evaluation process. When signing up, select your child’s account under ‘Buy For’

Every new player at Hoop Nation starts with an initial evaluation in our New Member Class.
Your player will get a feel for Hoop Nation classes while we evaluate their skills for their age to identify their level.
You’ll receive evaluation results via email within 24-48 hours. Once you have those results, plus an active membership or package, your player can begin scheduling classes on our website or mobile app! You will be able to book into any class of your assigned age group and level.
Players are free to get a membership and start taking any Rookie level classes right away.

Select your membership preference on our Membership Page and purchase under you Momence account. Please add your Child and purchase your membership or package under your Child.

Our mobile app is the best and easiest way to book and manage classes!
Download on Apple App Store or for Android, the Google Play Store. You can also search "Hoop Nation" in either app store.
Membership FAQs

Our monthly memberships have a three month commitment. Because our program is designed for real, measurable progress, this consistency is critical to your player’s success. However, these months do not have to be consecutive. Members are able to freeze their accounts for up to 90 days each calendar year.

The enrollment fee is a one-time charge of $99 when you sign up for a membership.

Our Elite membership option includes 12 classes per month, which can be shared among siblings.
Basic or Premier memberships may not be shared among siblings. Separate players under those memberships can manage their respective monthly class credits.

We allow freezes on memberships each calendar year, up to 90 days maximum. If you need to freeze beyond 90 days in a calendar year, a $25 charge applies for each additional month your account is frozen. Any classes already paid for can be used during the freeze period.
Please note: To ensure your freeze is processed before your next payment, requests must be submitted at least 5 days in advance of your scheduled autopay date. Requests made within 5 days of your next billing cycle may not be processed in time.

Yes! Each member who refers a friend will receive a $25 credit to their next autopay, as well as a bonus class added to their account, once the new membership is purchased.

CLASS AND BOOKING FAQs

Yes, but there is a limit of two classes per day, per player.

All basketballs and training equipment are provided by Hoop Nation.
Please ensure your child brings:
Basketball-appropriate shoes and athletic attire
A water bottle to stay hydrated

As soon as a spot becomes available and you’re off the waitlist, an email or text (depending on your notification preferences) will be sent.

As soon as your membership autopay is processed, you’ll be able to book classes for that month.
Additionally, if you purchase an add-on class pack, you will be able to book out even farther (up to three months in advance).

Cancellations made 24 hours or more in advance of a scheduled class will receive a credit back to your account.
If a class is canceled fewer than 24 hours in advance, you will lose that class credit.If you have booked a class you cannot attend, please cancel as soon as possible so that spot opens up for another player to book.
Hoop Nation members receive one courtesy late cancellation every 3 months.

Monthly membership sessions expire one month from the date of purchase.

To promote player focus and independence, we ask that parents do not actively observe or intervene in classes.
This policy helps athletes develop confidence and stronger coach-athlete relationships.

All parents and caregivers are expected to be on-site at the time of a session’s end time. If there’s an issue with your pick-up, please contact our Hoop Lab emergency line ASAP via text/call: 516-687-6413.

We are delighted to offer private group classes so your child and their friends can enjoy a dedicated class on our schedule. This option is separate from monthly memberships and provides personalized instruction in a comfortable setting with familiar faces.

Private 1-on-1 sessions are scheduled during non-peak hours, and availability is extremely limited during the school year.

COMMON BOOKING ISSUES

Only members with an active pricing option and level assignment will be able to book themselves into Hoop Nation classes.
If you have a membership and/or class pack and a level assignment on your account and are still unable to book, just email us at hello@hoopnationtraining.com
Receiving a prerequisite error? Please first check the following:
Confirm that the class level/age group you are trying to book aligns with what your player has been assigned (e.g., A 7-year-old Level 1 player will not be able to book into a Level 2 or Age 8-10 class).
The profile selected when booking a class (Parents: Make sure you’re on the right player’s profile, and not yours or another sibling.).
Did you already use all available credits? Hoop Nation classes renew on the same day each month that you began your membership (e.g., If you signed up for a Hoop Nation membership on May 17, your next autopay will be set for June 17.).
The expiration date of available credits (for example: credits from a purchased class pack) to ensure they’re still valid.

You can upgrade your membership anytime to add more classes per month by contacting us.
You can also purchase an additional a la carte class at any time. We also have member-only class packs available as add-ons to your monthly membership for additional savings.

EVENTS & BIRTHDAYS

We host fun and unique birthday parties at Hoop Lab for parties with up to 50 kids.
A 90-minute birthday party at Hoop Lab features 60 minutes of skills contests or gameplay and 30 minutes of pizza and birthday cake. You are responsible for providing, setting up, and serving your own food & decorations. Our coaches will do the rest!
